27 Jan, Gangtok: Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee SPCC at Party office in Gangtok erupted its version of statement over the 21 December Rolu Picnic where PS Tamang made his public appearance boldly by quoting his movement in search of Democracy. The dissident MLA should have raised the voice in the assembly which would make their movement even more rigid , said the SPCC president Nar Bahadur Bhandari to the press. Bhandari said, the change is must looking into the present turmoil in the state apart from that a well coordinated mass movement is necessary. “We do not say to Goley to form a alliance as such, grouping eleven MLA’s could well make effortless work for formation of party or seventeen MLA’s in hand Goley will surely form a government”, said Bhandari. If the people are sound enough to come to the street for the change, Congress Party is well prepared boot start the revolution with the mass movement, he said. Dispensing of centrally sponsored schemes by the SDF Government once in a year under the roof of Janta Mela runs beneath the shade of political flagship which is evidently reflecting a one sided nature developments. Other developmental activities centrally funded schemes are dispersed unevenly in a light of political arena, Bhandari said.
Unlike any other states in India, Sikkim has still not come up with its Below Poverty Line BPL lists which are in fact a matter of regret. Schemes catered by the centre for development are termed as endorsed by the SDF government itself making the innocent people believe in it, he said. The Panchayat election are politically lubricated and panchayats are ‘nominated’ not ‘elected’ in SDF government as such the nominated panchayat are more concerned for the political varsity rather than public, so the panchayati system in Sikkim could be well imagined from these all, he said.
Bhandari also indicated that SPCC President ship election would be conducted in the month of July this year and all possible preparations are going on for choosing a right visionary leadership for which a core nine member team is being constituted to mobilize the related activities. The nine core committee members constituting K.N Upreti, K.N Lepcha, Phuchung Bhutia, Anil Lachungpa, Yuvraj Rai, Rinzing Namgyal Bhutia , Gyatshing Bhutia, Avinash Yakha and Lalit Sharma, he said.
