  • image Money can regenerate and we can always earn money from other sources without destroying our land.. but will we ever be able to regenerate nature?? OR maybe those in favor of the "money making dams for the state revenue" never plan to stay in the state as i am sure that after all the dams have been made the state will be uninhabitable. and thank you our "representatives" you are doing a good job of waggin your tails and never knowing where you are stepping... if wishes were horses we would have educated socially aware representatives of the people... would would be able to look us in the eye and even fight with us if we said something wrong to them.. rather we have our representatives shying away from public view and only thinking about themselves. anyone been to the 5th mile site towards STCS godown area.????? all the sites are being owned by our beloved representatives.. and are in a hurry to make their own ugly marks. And i thought government sites were for the landless.. i don't see them as landless.. WAKE UP SIKKIM..PLEASE WAKE UP.

  • image I am really sad, being brought up in Mangan.I know who would have had land sold,it has to be rich lepchas or bhutias or kazis who may not have ventured into Dzongu but owns land there. It will have catastrophic affect and would be more prone to landslides and earthquakes.Problem is with lepchas only, once they become educated, they feel and would not associate of being lepchas and would not even converse in their own loanguage. Its sad but true.Divided you fall, united you stand,Lepchas should have understood that long time back.

  • image its sad to know that sikkim is loosing its natural beauty. I beg to all the siikim people to come on the road and walk hand in hand with those protesting people. Now itsd time to raise the voice .. Wake up all and walk in the street , fight for your rights as these politicians are just filling their pockets. its time to make them realize that they cannot play any more dirty political game with the emotions of the sikkimes people and natural beauty. offcourse, development we need but it doesnot mean in the cost of our coming generation.

  • image sikkim is loved by the country for its beauty & nature. if people from the plains or for that matter, any part of the world would want to visit sikkim, it would be for its fresh beauty and gorgeous untouched nature. the project may have been a step of the govt to 'bring development to our land', or to 'gain corrouptly from it', what ever be the theory frm either side, my question is, is it worth it? as a student in the capital of our country, Delhi, i look around at the luxurious malls, wide roads, sky high buildings and find not one single stream gurgling. no thick beauty of forests, no gushing rivers except the still yamuna, stinking with factory wastes, at the outskirts of the city. is it worth it? development, corruption or whatever the defence or allegation from both sides be, is ruining our beautiful untouched virgin lands worth it? today, in delhi, i miss the beauty of our state. will our children and grand children get to feel the same way when they come to the cities for their education in the future?

  • image yes, of course there isn't any doubt that the construction of multi-crore dams will bring economic prosperity and development for the state but i say what's the use of such development and prosperity when the damages it incurs is beyond repair. what glow such projects can it bring to sikkim when the future itself is in the shadow of such light. whats the scope of such prosperity and happiness where tears flow because of it. How sad, the selfish interest of few people will destroy everything, the Teesta, the nature, people and Sikkim. The Teesta and the natural vegetation of Sikkim should not be a page of the history. so, people, there is a need for a revolution to save our land. Its time to join all hands and unite together for one cause- " save Sikkim" GENTLEMEN- " NOW IS THE TIME, WAKE UP"

  • image The people of Dzongu need to learn the lesson from Dikchu's power dam. They are in great danger of flooding by the projects. Such problem will come to your door step in near future, if you cannot wake up from your money dream.

  • image Any way for the short term its seems ok for the projects, because SDF government and its corrupted people are benefited from this unpopular projects, but for the long term its not only damage the eco-systems, it damage the livelihood of the people and many other dangerous issues will come in near future. Dont worry to the persons who support this projects, but to worry and to be prepare for the up coming problem and disasters.

  • image Sikkimese people are not stupid, only some are selifish like the government leaders.Ofcourse they cannot listen your voice because they got big black commission for the projects. And till now some corrupted voters are supporting them.Remember- the party government is using the public money to corrupt the corrupted voters and teaching them to speak thier language. The corrupted people are the real stupid, who dont know that they are digging a hole for themself.Let them dig a hole and their own generations will throw................one day.

  • image Hey, stupid sikkimese people. You have to know that the people power is the greatest power of all. The people voice is the voice of God. If the party government cannot listen your voice, all Sikkimese people join together to fight back and bring them to the road like the former king of Nepal. Its time for you to show your knowledge in this coming election, how intellegent and brave you all are.

  • image The people voice of sikkim will not listen by this governmnt, because of the multi- crore commission recieved from the central government. For them money is every thing not the people of sikkim who vote for them and enjoying this positions till 14 years. We won`t complain that the Sikkimese people are stupid, until this coming election.

  • image Its very sad news for Sikkim. Not only for the lepchas but for all who love their mother land from their heart. • image My heart is with those protesting but I,m afraid the $$ will win. Lets just hope that those who are pushing these projects through become victims of their own greed and ignorance. Like being in front of or on a dam when it goes. STUPID PEOPLE only interrested in lining their pockets will PAY for their deeds. Their answer is to plant some trees whilst they destroy on a massive scale nature. These are the same knid of people who kiil unborn daughters. Debra USA
