GANGTOK, 1 JULY: To effectively implement government policies and programmes in the state, Sikkim chief minister Mr Pawan Chamling today stressed in following simplified rules and regulation so that the people could derive its maximum benefits.
In this context he urged the urban development department officials to provide trade license to only bonafide Sikkimese and unemployed youths of the state. He further asked the department to follow the ‘one family, one license’ system in issuing trade license to run business in the state.
In a series of meetings with various state government departments, the Chief Minister today held the coordination meeting with three state government departments namely Forest, Urban Development and Building and Housing Departments.
Interestingly, as part of the fourth phase of the state green mission, the state forest department would soon schedule a day for planting saplings by the people of Sikkim.
The CM also directed the state forest department to prepare the proposal regarding the updating of forest cover areas, and authentic report of the receding Zemu glacier. He also directed to notify the various climatic zones, protection of natural forest, and also to work in co-ordination with roads and bridges, horticulture and agriculture, land revenue and rural management and development departments
Later in the day, Mr Chamling met the minister and the officials of building and housing department and said that priority should be given to the various ongoing schemes.
