Gangtok: The important festival of the State Labab Duchene (Divine descent) was observed at Inchey monastery, the oldest monastery of the State. According to Buddhist Holy Scripture this day god Budha had come to earth from heaven. On the occasion the head monk of the monastery lit 501 lamps and rounded 500 prayers wheels five times by the Lamas of monastery.
People of Gangtok, Arithang and Sichey had gathered at the monastery early in the morning to pay their prayers for god Budha.
One lama of the monastery, however, said due to the ongoing repairing in monastery, this year the monastery could not observe the puja in large way.
Gangtok: The new committee of Sikkim Limbu-Tamang Tribal Forum has been re-formed on 18 November at its head office near Panihouse, Deorali. In the new committee Mr. Sukman Limbu as President and Mr. Sudhan Lama, Mr. P.L.Subba as Vice President, Mr. Subash Tamang, General Secretary, Mr.Sushil Tamang and S.R.Subba as Assistant Secretary and Mr. M.B.Limbu as publicity secretary of the organization.
The new committee has been formed after the mass resignation of President Birbal Limbu, Vice-President Anand Lama and General Secretary Birendra Limbu from the organization, it is informed by Mr. M.B.Limbu, publicity secretary of the organization.
