Rachna photo exhibition for creativity

Gangtok: Rachna Books has started displaying of photographs under the banner "Aperture Culture" on the First Floor of its bookshop from Friday. The exhibition is on with the team of six local photo enthusiasts: Suraj Gurung, ST Wangdi, Karma Loday, Birendra Rai, Karchoong Diyali and Raman Shresta.

However, the photo exhibition is opened to all. “Because Aperture Culture is an open platform for using photography as a mode of creativity and self-ex-pression, there is no rigidity of themes, too,” said Mr. Raman Shrestha, proprietor of the bookshop.At present there are 42 photos displayed in the hall. Mr. Shrestha also informed
photos at Aperture Culture are going to be on display and sale permanently at the first floor of the bookshop. To keep things interesting for the audience, the display will be changed on a regular basis.

The main motive behind this display is to introduce the people - specially the school-children and the youth - the versatile, innovative and personal mode of ex-pression of photography that could inspire them to take up photography as a hobby if not seriously.The entries should not be bigger than 8 inches X 12 inches and should be framed.

Mr. Shrestha also informed the photographs of Raman Shrestha and Karchoong Diyalee displayed in the Aperture Culture are also going to be displayed at the 4th edition of Magic Garage in Los Angeles this weekend. Magic Garage has been providing a platform for art, music and any form of creativity for a long time now.
